Kyrios says, the fierce bombardment of the Earth due to wars will cause Earth’s core to heat up, and hasten the speed of ice melt at the North and South Poles. Melted ice will in turn melt more ice, causing sea levels to rise rapidly. Many countries will be hit by tsunamis, heavy rains and floods, and agricultural crops will suffer serious harvest failures.

Many countries around the Atlantic Ocean will suffer from a lack of food and water and power outages. When winter comes, it will be extremely cold and many people will die of cold or starvation. The tropical regions will be even hotter, and experience extreme cold and hot weather.

Natural disasters will ensue, but death will not come so easily for many. On the contrary, many people will struggle to live on whilst at death’s door. They will suffer from wars, nuclear radiation, floods or being buried, before dying in pain.

Kyrios says, everyone needs to take the responsibility to protect the Earth and stop wars. Only then can we live in peace.

(Not available in English yet)

Surge in natural disasters around the world is consistent with what Kyrios said in 2018

According to the records of the Emergency Event Database (EM-DAT), a total of 399 natural disasters occurred in 2023, which is an increase of 30 compared with the annual average of the past 20 years.

The surge in natural disasters around the world is consistent with what Kyrios had said in 2018:

“If humans continue to live ignorantly and fail to understand how closely related our lives are to Mother Earth’s well-being; continue to burn and damage the soil of the forests and aggravate global warming, it will bring about heat waves, melting of ice caps, tsunamis, and many other disasters. Many people will suffer and perish as a result. From 2019 onwards, disasters will continuously wreak havoc until 2028 or even up to 2034. This string of disasters is the reason the end of the world will happen much sooner. At that time, Planet Earth will be destroyed.”

Kyrios is extremely worried that natural disasters will not only become more frequent, but also more severe and extreme.

Take preemptive measures and be ready to deal with sudden natural disasters. This will help protect your own lives and your family and friends. Many companies have moved towards deploying AI technology to replace human labour, and have thus implemented or planned large-scale layoffs and slow down recruitment. At present, about 65% of businesses are using AI tools such as ChatGPT to reduce labour costs.

It is hence conceivable that when human-like AI robots with hands and legs are deployed worldwide, many more people will be laid-off.
According to The Lancet, both unemployment and financial hardship are major contributing factors to increased suicide rates globally. When people lose their means to earn a living, they will inevitably feel helpless and lost. And as the psychological burden gradually mounts, they eventually choose to commit suicide. Even students had chosen to commit suicide for fear of losing their worth and being replaced by AI.

Kyrios says, the precious life that Heaven has bestowed upon us did not come easy –living on Earth is in itself a test. Kyrios sternly advises that no one should ever commit suicide, even if you lose your job or encounter any difficulties. It is wrong to think that suicide is a relief! Those who have committed suicide and lost their lives will plunge into a more difficult and painful abyss instead.

Sea Ice Growth Observed After Intervention Began

On 27 September 2023, Kyrios began a new intervention to increase Antarctic sea ice levels. Kyrios subsequently intervened again on 1 October. There was an initial uptick in sea ice growth of around 150,000 square kilometres (see Figure 1) but sea ice levels started dropping again from 4 October. On 9 October, Kyrios intervened again.

Kyrios will continue to bolster Antarctic sea ice throughout summer till March 2024. However, this will be a challenging endeavour due to the El Niño climate pattern, record high global sea surface temperatures, Japan’s ongoing discharge of nuclear wastewater, and the ongoing wars.

Kyrios also explained in 2019 during the Arctic Wildfire intervention that wildfires around the world will also cause ocean temperatures to rise through lateral heat transfer from land to ocean, as well as the warming of Earth from deep within. This will adversely affect Antarctic sea and land ice.

Record Low Antarctic Sea Ice In 2023

Antarctic sea ice is expected to decline as winter is coming to an end. However, we are hopeful that Kyrios’ intervention will narrow the gap in ice extent between 2023 and the 1981 to 2010 average. Throughout 2023, Antarctic ice extent has been more than one million square kilometres lower than the 1981 to 2010 average. This year’s Antarctic sea ice winter maximum is also the lowest on record, at 1.75 million square kilometres below the 1981 to 2010 average.

If this continues, this will hasten the loss of Antarctic ice shelves, and increase the flow of Antarctic glacier land ice towards the sea.

The amount of sea ice this year is “far outside anything observed in the 45-year modern satellite record that began in 1979,” according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center. Compared to the previous record low set in 2022, the “missing” sea ice in 2023 is more than the size of Egypt.

The head of climate monitoring at the World Meteorological Organization, Omar Baddour, described the drop in Antarctic sea ice this year as “dramatic”. “What happens in Antarctica and the Arctic affects the entire globe,” he said.

Warm Southern Ocean Waters Affecting Sea Ice Growth

While many factors are at play, Kyrios says that the record low sea ice extent this year has been largely due to warm ocean waters reaching the Southern Ocean. This is corroborated by Walt Meier, a senior research scientist at the National Snow and Ice Data Center.

Humanity Must Stop Destroying Our Oceans

Kyrios says that Earth’s oceans are vital to humanity’s survival, thus we must protect it at all costs. However, with Japan’s discharge of nuclear-contaminated wastewater into the oceans, not only will it risk destroying ocean ecosystems and damaging human health all over the world, the seawater contaminated with radioactive toxins will cause abnormal warming of the oceans and disrupt ocean currents. This will lead to even further warming of our oceans, accelerating ice melt, and much more.

Apart from causing irreversible damage to our Earth, Japan does not realise that in time to come, this act will bring about the complete destruction of its own country, where Japan’s landmass will sink completely. Kyrios explains that radioactive substances from nuclear radiation will cause abnormal heating of the oceans surrounding Japan, thereby activating undersea volcanoes along the Pacific Ring of Fire and raising the likelihood of eruptions, earthquakes and tsunamis. This will also cause Japan’s land-based volcanoes to erupt one after another.

Kyrios hopes that the Japanese government will find other ways of dealing with the wastewater instead of dumping them into our oceans.

This year, wildfires across Russia have been quite extensive. As soon as the surface snow melted with the onset of spring, wildfires would spontaneously flare up. Many of these fires are likely to be “zombie” fires, which smoulder underground during winter and reemerge in spring. However, Kyrios’ ongoing interventions have helped to keep the extent of the wildfires across Russia in check. In comparison, wildfires in Canada that were not under intervention, have burned on uncontrollably and scorched close to 15 million hectares to date.

Kyrios first began intervening on 8 May to extinguish wildfires in the region north of Kazakhstan. When the hotspots there were mostly extinguished, new wildfires flared up in the Far East region. As such, Kyrios announced a new phase of wildfire intervention focusing on the Russia Far East on 4 July. As the Far East region is vast, Kyrios focused first on the Magadan Oblast region where she extinguished most hotspots there by 12 August. Kyrios then shifted attention to south Yakutia and diverted storm clouds that were remnants of Typhoon Khanun away from Primorsky and Khabarovsk towards the wildfires in south Yakutia.

Since then, south Yakutia experienced extensive rainfall on 13 to 15 August, and again on 18 and 19 August. Due to extensive cloud cover, we could not determine if the hotspots were extinguished until the skies cleared on 26 August. On this day, we were able to confirm that the extensive wildfires across the south Yakutia area have been extinguished (see Figure 2 below).

Gradually, Japan will also be forgotten.”

On 18 Feb 2023, Kyrios released a follow-up prophecy: “From February 2023, at least three to four volcanoes in Japan will erupt. This will cause nearly a third of Japan’s landmass to sink. Subsequently, Mount Fuji and other volcanoes would then erupt as well, causing the rest of Japan to sink completely.”

Kyrios says:

“On 24 August 2023, at 1.00 p.m. Japan time (0400 GMT), Japan began to discharge nuclear-contaminated wastewater into the sea. Nuclear-contaminated wastewater will pollute and poison the entire ocean, devastating entire marine ecosystems and biological organisms, affecting fishes, cephalopods, crustaceans, molluscs, corals, marine algae, and seagrasses, as well as planktons, marine microorganisms, sea salt, and more. Radioactive toxins in seawater emit harmful heat, disrupting ocean currents, thereby causing the ocean’s system of balancing trends to malfunction and be in disequilibrium, and the seawaters to churn turbulently and unceasingly.

Japan’s toxic nuclear-contaminated wastewater will cause cancer or deformities. The nuclear-contaminated wastewater will be carried by the ocean currents and spread to the entire ocean, polluting the seas of every country in the world with toxic nuclear-contaminated wastewater; regardless of where the oceans are located on Earth, all will be adversely affected. This is due to the extremely strong circulation and diffusive forces of ocean currents that flow, spread, and advance towards all corners of the world’s oceans.

Never think that only Japan and its surrounding countries will be impacted. In fact, ocean currents around the entire world are exceptionally strong – surging currents propel circulation forces that will spread the toxins across the entire planet’s oceans, circulating them over and over again. Be it on land or in the oceans, radioactive toxins cannot be destroyed and will remain for hundreds of centuries. Humankind must stop consuming seafood and marine minerals, etc., as well as stop drinking desalinated seawater – it is imperative that everyone cease such consumption for the sake of health and longevity.

Nuclear-contaminated wastewater will cause humans to suffer from cancers or deformities. Everyone must not swim, dive, boat, or engage in any sea activities – do not come into contact with radioactive seawater or one will develop cancer.

Japan is fully conscious and cognizant of the highly potent toxicity of nuclear-contaminated wastewater, that it will damage all the genes, bone marrow, and the cellular structures in the human body, resulting in cancers or deformities. Yet, Japan insists on carrying out such a foolish act. Such presumptuousness will bring harm to oneself in the end.

The toxins in nuclear-contaminated wastewater will raise the temperatures of the ocean currents around Japan, and bring disasters to the surrounding countries. Ocean currents will also cause toxins to flow and spread far and wide across the entire Pacific Ocean and other oceans.

Japan does not realise that the radioactive substances from nuclear radiation will cause abnormal heating of the oceans surrounding Japan, activating undersea volcanoes along the Pacific Ring of Fire and raising the likelihood of eruptions; this will also result in Japan’s land-based volcanoes to erupt one after another. That’s the end for Japan! Hopefully, other countries will not learn or imitate Japan’s irresponsible wrongful act of releasing nuclear-contaminated wastewater into the ocean, harming and destroying themselves, their country’s civilians, as well as other lives.

Utterly inhumane and immoral.”

Radioactive substances from nuclear radiation will cause abnormal heating of the oceans surrounding Japan, activating undersea volcanoes along the Pacific Ring of Fire and raising the likelihood of eruptions; this will also result in Japan’s land-based volcanoes to erupt one after another.

Extinguishing Fires In Russia Far East (15 Aug Update) - Russia Wildfires Intervention 2023

Wildfire Situation Update 15 August 2023

Due to the large area of fires burning in the Russia Far East, Kyrios has opted back then to focus first on east Yakutia, Magadan and the surrounding regions. Since 8 July, plenty of rain had reached the hotspots (see Figure 1), effectively putting out most of the wildfires in those areas (see Figure 2).

On 12 August, Kyrios came to know of the floodings in the Primorsky region that was caused by storm clouds from the remnants of Typhoon Khanun. To help alleviate the floods and also extinguish the fires in south Yakutia, Kyrios intervened to direct the storm clouds towards Yakutia.

What’s next

We will continue to monitor and report on the progress of Kyrios’ intervention on the wildfires in the Russia Far East region. Meanwhile, Typhoon Lan is also making landfall in Japan today, which might lead to flooding in the Russia Far East. This may however be opportune for Kyrios to divert some rain clouds to Yakutia to help extinguish the wildfires there.

On 29 July, Kyrios was informed about the extreme floods in Fujian province caused by Typhoon Doksuri. Typhoon Doksuri had made landfall just a day earlier on 28 July and was notable in its strong intensity as it had time to develop and strengthen after forming on 21 July in the seas east of Philippines. Typhoon Doksuri brought with it heavy rains and strong winds which rapidly inundated Fujian province and the surrounding regions. To reduce precipitation in the area, Kyrios took action to disperse and move rain clouds towards the sea.

On 30 July, Kyrios once again modified the weather system to disperse the rain clouds. This led to a noticeable change in wind speed and direction off the coast of Zhejiang province (see Figure 1).

Around the same time, another Typhoon named Khanun was also heading towards Chinese mainland in the direction of Zhejiang province (see Figure 2). Typhoon Khanun was originally forecasted to make landfall in Zhejiang province on 2 August.

However, with Kyrios’ ongoing intervention to alter the weather system to reduce precipitation across Mainland China, Typhoon Khanun trajectory dramatically changed. This was reported in Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 4, published by PAGASA on 31 July (see Figure 3), where it forecast that Khanun would slow down, stall and then U-turn away from China, instead of following its original path of heading westwards to make landfall.

Figure 3: On 31 July 2023, two days after Kyrios began intervention, Typhoon Khanun was forecasted to change direction and move away from the Chinese mainland (as indicated by the red arrow).
On 2 August, as Typhoon Khanun approached close to the shores of Zhejiang province, Kyrios wanted to be sure that Khanun would steer clear of China even though forecasts already predicted that Khanun would turn away (see Figure 4). As such, on 2 August, and again on 3 August, Kyrios focused on steering Khanun away towards the sea.

The Japan Meteorological Agency reported on 3 August that Typhoon Khanun “is expected to slow to nearly stationary movement before a weakening high pressure system nearby allows it to turn east Friday.”

Without Kyrios’ intervention, additional rainfall would have brought further devastation to the local communities and infrastructure, overwhelming the already flooded regions in China, which is still reeling from the effects of Typhoon Doksuri.

Fujian province and eastern China saw no rains from 1 Aug

By 3 July, the situation had turned dire especially in the Republic of Sakha, in a region also known as Yakutia. A state of emergency was subsequently declared by the authorities.

Aisen Nikolayev, Head of the Republic of Sakha, wrote on Telegram that “More than 110 forest fires were raging across about 61,000 hectares (151,000 acres), roughly three-quarters the size of New York City.”

It’s been more than a month since Kyrios began her intervention on 8th May 2023 to extinguish the wildfires across the wide expanse north of Kazakhstan, stretching 1,200km from Yekaterinburg to Kurgan, Tyuman, Omsk and Novosibirsk.

We observed that rain has continued to fall in the intervention area and that the number of hotspots across the intervention area remained low. As such, Kyrios has decided to end this intervention.

Spring has arrived in the region north of Kazakhstan, a wide expanse of land stretching 1,200km from Yekaterinburg, to Kurgan, Tyuman, Omsk and Novosibirsk. As the snow melts, the lack of precipitation in this area has steadily led to an increase in wildfires.
Letter To World Leaders And Government Officials

“People elect you with the belief that you will act in their best interests, meting out justice against corrupt officials and diabolical individuals. As an elected official, you are responsible and morally obligated to protect and care for the lives and livelihoods of the populace, as well as to foster peace and harmony between all ethnic groups.

Besides having integrity, foresight and ability, good governments must always prioritise the well-being of the people. They must not wage wars recklessly or sow discord to serve their self-interests. Doing so harms the economy, lives and communities. Wars also damage the Earth, its fragile ecosystems, and harms all forms of life.

As a leader of the country, you have a duty to treasure and protect all life on Earth while also reflecting on the blessings of Life’s existence. A good leader will have compassion and not bear to see people suffer or experience any grievances. If a leader does not embody these principles, we as the electorate must seriously reconsider our choices of leaders and whether they truly deserve the position.

This is the time for you to fulfil your promises to the people and lead your country to a brighter future. A leader with genuine foresight will protect the interests of his country while also fairly considering the interests of other nations. A good leader will strive for harmony and unity among all countries, enabling all to prosper together. Good leaders can bring countries to greatness and enable their people to live in peace and security.”

My name is Low Weizhong, and I’m from Singapore. This is an update of my video testimonial from 2017 (see video above).

My faith and belief in Kyrios took root in 1998, when she accurately predicted the untimely passing of my brother. Despite advising my mother to take precautions, my mother did not heed Kyrios’ warnings. Unfortunately, a few months later, my brother suddenly fell ill and passed away at the young age of 18. The cause of death was meningitis (inflammation of the brain membrane).

In 2007, my faith in Kyrios was reinforced. My mother was suffering from kidney failure at the time and we turned to Kyrios for help in healing her. My mother’s conditions improved thereafter and in conjunction with her healing efforts, Kyrios advised my mother to restrict her diet and limit her sugar and salt intake to prolong her life. Regrettably, my mother could not control her diet and her health took a turn for the worse, resulting in her passing in 2009. Despite this outcome, these events further solidified my trust and belief in Kyrios.

So in 2016, when my second daughter, En, was born prematurely, I knew I had to turn to Kyrios for help. En weighed only 850 grams at birth and was just the size of my palm. I was extremely worried for her survival. Specialist doctors from KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital discovered that she had multiple health issues including a hole in her heart. I was informed that she would have to stay in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for at least 4 to 6 months, maybe even longer. I called Kyrios in the hopes that she could save En.

Over the phone, Kyrios further diagnosed that not only did En have a hole in her heart, her spine was very narrow and there were problems with her kidneys. When Kyrios assured me that she would be able to help En, I heaved a sigh of relief. I called Kyrios everyday and she would tirelessly heal En remotely over the phone. Miraculously, after just 2 months, En was transferred to the general ward. In the third month, she was discharged from the hospital! Thanks to Kyrios’ healing, En developed much faster than other premature babies. Kyrios continued to help En for almost two years after her discharge, and she is now a healthy 7-year-old child. I am eternally grateful to Kyrios for saving my beloved daughter.

The love and compassion that Kyrios has shown me has not only saved my child, but has also changed me as a person. I used to struggle with anger and impatience, but Kyrios taught me to overcome these negative traits. I am forever grateful to Kyrios for the transformative impact she has had on my life. Despite all the help that Kyrios has rendered to me, which included a complete recovery from COVID-19, Kyrios has never asked for payment or expected any benefits. Instead, she asked only for me to be a better person and showed me the importance of helping others and caring for our planet and all living beings. Thanks to Kyrios, my life is filled with love and joy, and I will always hold Kyrios close to my heart.

On 19 April 2020, my daughter was born prematurely at 8.5 months. She weighed a mere 1.25kg at birth. Before she was born, doctors from the General Hospital Kuala Lumpur suspected that she had chromosomal abnormalities that would cause disorders in her growth. A prenatal scan revealed that one of her kidneys was missing and there was asymmetrical brain development – the left ventricle of her brain was dilated and her brain structure was underdeveloped. Both conditions were linked to the chromosome abnormalities. In light of this, I reached out to seek Kyrios’ help to save my daughter. Kyrios agreed, but told me to call only after the baby was born as she doesn’t interfere while the child is in the womb.

Immediately after birth, my daughter was placed in an incubator in the ICU. She was also found to have underdeveloped lungs. I reached out to Kyrios for assistance in healing my baby, and Kyrios performed remote healing sessions via the phone. I provided daily updates on my daughter’s condition to Kyrios as directed. With God’s Grace, after 3 days of remote healing by Kyrios, my daughter was no longer reliant on a ventilator to support her breathing and a new scan also revealed the presence of a previously absent kidney! On the 5th day, the specialist doctor informed me that the ventricle problems on the baby’s brain had been resolved and both sides of her brain were normal!

Kyrios not only healed my daughter, she also constantly teaches us to renounce negative traits such as anger, arrogance, greed, jealousy, envy and materialism. She inculcates in us positive values, encouraging us to embrace compassion, kindness, respect, empathy, and to treat eveyone as family, regardless of race, religion or nationality.

Planet Earth is where we all live, work and play. We build our homes on this beautiful land, and forge beautiful memories with our loved ones and friends. In the vastness of space, Earth is unique, one of a kind, and the only known planet to sustain life. Was it by chance that Earth exists? Science would make attempts to unravel and understand the processes in which Earth and our Universe was formed.

However, its instruments and methodologies are not able to scientifically prove the existence of a divine “hand” that controls and shapes these processes. Without such compelling evidence from science, does it then mean that Earth and our Universe was formed naturally by chance? The truth is, Earth and our Universe was created by our Creator. Such magnificent creation can only be formed as a result of a love that’s pure, powerful, and perfect. That is the love that our Creator has for all of Life and the reason why our Creator created Earth – as a homeland where we can sustain our lifetime of living and learn how to live righteously in a comfortable and peaceful environment.

Humanity in our pursuit of enjoyment, status and power, has grown complacent and ignorant of the damage that we can cause to Earth. While the climate change movement has been gaining momentum, many are unaware of how close we are to another existential threat – a world war. When war breaks out, the destructive power of all the ordnance will lead to further environmental damage, pollution, release of radioactive and toxic substances, greenhouse gas emissions, loss of biodiversity and more. War can even bring about geological disasters such as increased tectonic activities which will lead to volcano eruptions and earthquakes. Innumerable lives will be lost.

Other activities that have an outsized impact on our climate crisis, also includes plans for establishing a lunar base and mining operations. I have shared before about the catastrophic impact this will have for life on Earth.

I have prophesied about several major events that will happen very soon. If we do nothing to change, life on Earth will no longer be as peaceful, pleasant and bountiful as before.

I’ll end off by reiterating two paragraphs from my 2022 Earth Day message:

“Humans must understand the truth and the reason for their existence throughout their life journey. They must cherish their life and that of their families, as well as the fates of all future generations. Only by learning to be righteous and cultivating the right principles and right mindfulness can everyone live happily and blissfully in this world.

We must all be grateful to the 🌍 Earth. Earth is life’s treasure for all of us, supplying all the precious essentials that our bodies need daily for good health, while also giving us and all future generations a land to thrive in. People around the world must unite and coexist peacefully. We must cherish, love, and protect our Earth – the homeland of our lives.”

NO EARTH = NO LIFE

NASA has published the Antarctica ice mass data for the month of November 2022 on 1 February 20231. As such, we are now able to assess the impact of Kyrios’ year-long Antarctic intervention from November 2021 to November 2022.

Back in 2021, Kyrios’ main goal for embarking on this intervention was to preserve Antarctic ice, and even striving to increase ice mass on the continent to reduce the rate of current sea level rise.

During this period, we also had the opportunity to network, learn and share at the WCRP Sea Level Conference in Singapore with other climate scientists around the world. We learnt about the work that other climate scientists are doing in Antarctica, Greenland and more, and also shared with many participants from the CCRS, EOS, CSIRO, NORCE, MoPH and MO about Kyrios’ many interventions including the Antarctic and Arctic intervention.

Looking at the Antarctica ice mass variation data from NASA for the one year intervention period, we were in awe as it proved that against all odds, Kyrios has made the impossible happen again.

Unprecedented gain in ice mass

The Antarctic ice sheet gained a record 388 gigatons2 (one gigaton equals to a billion metric tons) of ice during Kyrios’ intervention between November 2021 and November 2022 (Fig. 1). Such extraordinary gain in ice mass has never been observed since the beginning of the GRACE mission in 2002. The only other time the same period gained mass was from 2004 to 2005, however, the increment was far less at 166 gigatons (Fig. 2).

Between January and May 2022, the Antarctic ice sheet also reached a new record for consecutive monthly gains of 451 gigatons.

Figure 1: The graph shows the amount of ice mass loss in Antarctica since 2002. Compared to the same time a year ago, Antarctica has gained 388 gigatons2 of ice. The results from the graphs shows remarkable ice growth from the time Kyrios began to restore Antarctic ice on 20 November 2021. (Source: NASA Vital Signs of the Planet)

Figure 2: The red line indicates November months since 2002, and the unprecedented mass gain during the course of Kyrios' intervention between November 2021 and 2022.

It is extremely remarkable that the Antarctic ice sheet bucked the trend and gained mass during the intervention period, because this also happened when carbon emissions reached a record high in 2022. Historically since 2002, in tandem with increasing carbon emissions, the Antarctic ice mass has also always been on a downward trend and therefore contributing to global sea level rise.

The increase in ice mass was no coincidence – it happened right after Kyrios started the intervention. Back in 2021, Kyrios also achieved such a feat against a backdrop of decreasing Arctic ice trends as part of the 2021 Arctic intervention. At that time, the formation of an unusually strong polar vortex supported strong sea ice growth and led to a much larger increase in sea ice extent and sea ice volume. Greenland also saw an unusually high rate of snowfall brought about by a rare hurricane soon after the end of an extreme summer melt season.

Ice mass increased in spite of the summer heat

It is also worth noting that when Kyrios started this Antarctic intervention, it was the peak of summer season. The ice sheet typically loses ice due to increased ice melt from the heat. The fact that Antarctica ice mass did not shrink after November 2022 – and even gained 96 gigatons the following month in December – indicates that something unusual had occurred.

Furthermore, at the end of the summer melt season in March 2022, Antarctica ice mass actually surpassed November 2021’s level for the first time ever in the Grace mission’s recorded history (Fig. 3).

Figure 3: The red and blue lines indicate months of November (beginning of summer) and March (end of summer) respectively. For the first time since 2002, March's level surpassed November's.

What’s also interesting to consider is that Antarctic summer 2021 could have been poised for intense melting as the season started off with the steepest October to November decline. In that month alone, Antarctica had lost 239 gigatons of ice, an alarming amount of ice to lose for that period, compared with an average of 44 gigatons3 in other years.

Had severe melting continued throughout summer, Antarctica ice mass could have reached devastating new lows, in line with the declining trend seen over the past decade (Fig. 4), and brought forward catastrophic consequences of sea level rise. Over the period 1992 to 2020, the Antarctic Ice Sheet had lost around 2670 Gt mass, contributing to 7.4 mm of global mean sea level rise (PDF).

Figure 4: Since more than a decade ago, Antarctic ice mass has been on a downward trend, fluctuating seasonally within the yellow zone mostly. Without intervention, it is highly likely that levels would continue into the orange zone.

Hence we are extremely grateful to Kyrios for embarking on this intervention. While Kyrios does not reveal how the intervention is carried out, we know that Kyrios spared no efforts and dedicated a lot of time and energy. Kyrios wanted to slow down sea level rise to buy us time and importantly, preserve lives. This provides humanity an opportunity to catch up with our climate mitigation plans and defend against the devastating consequences of sea level rise.

Most importantly, by demonstrating that polar ice restoration is possible, Kyrios wants to send a clear message to all of us – there is hope for our climate crisis, but only if humanity is willing to be enlightened about the truths and real reasons as to why our climate is breaking down, and why the intensity and frequency of natural disasters are on the rise. We must commit ourselves to take the right actions now in order to protect our lives and our planet!

Moving forward, Kyrios will continue to monitor the ice sheet to keep it stable. However, Kyrios mentioned that with ongoing factors such as continued deforestation, the release of Fukushima’s nuclear wastewater into the ocean, the exponential increase in energy consumption for AI, increasing space explorations and moon expeditions, and even wars – all of which stem from human greed, irresponsibility, lack of conscience, ignorance and dominance – keeping the Antarctic ice sheet stable will be much more challenging.
